目黒区大橋に位置する、音楽専門学校におけるラウンジ部分の改修工事。
同様の興味 / 目標をもつ者同士の出会いは、学校において最も重要なことの一つであると言える。まして、専門学校、さらには潜在的にラウンジが持つ空間の意味を考えると、その重要性はより大きなものであると考えた。 段階的に改修を進める計画のため、第一にコンセプトを表現することに焦点を絞りながら、家具のデザイン、レイアウト、空間と空間の意味分けを中心に設計をおこなった。 ラウンジの椅子は、一人用、および五/ 六人用の半端なモジュールの2つのサイズを用いており、背もたれがないデザインとなっている。それらを、それぞれが相互に影響するようにレイアウトすることで、いくつかのグループに分かれて利用していたとしても、視覚的にも、距離感的にも、知らず知らずのうちに、他のグループと何らかの関係を持つように配慮している。
こうしたデザインが、学生同士の偶然出会いや、新たなコミュニケーションのきっかけになればと思っている。

Redesign of lounge space in Music school at Ohashi, Meguro.

For people whow has a similar interest, knowing each other is one of the most important things at school. If it is a music school and thinking about the function of a lounge, the importance could be much higher.

Since this redesign is taking few steps, we tried to focus on the concept, the identity of the space, layout and the interior design. There are chairs without a backrest which are designed for 1person and 5/6people. The design, distance and the visual aspects, makes the people to be involved with the other group.

We hope that these design could connect the students for a start of a new communication.
